The laboratory serves the following objects:
1. Design of digital systems, microprocessor systems, and arithmetic and computer logic. Fault tolerant systems.
2. Design of digital interfaces and specialized applications in hardware
3. Design and Applications of Operating Systems
4. Develop and implement hardware description languages and hardware compilers
5. Development and implementation of languages and simulation systems. Computer network simulation-simulation-modeling.
6. Design and development of parallel and distributed processing systems.
7. Design and development of high performance computing, distributed systems, grid and cloud computing.
8. Design and development of parallel and distributed computing applications.
9. Design and development of mobile, cloudless and diffuse computing applications.
10. Study and Analysis of Modern Communications Networks – Network as a Service (Wired, Wireless) Interoperability of Different – Heterogeneous Networks.
11. New Media / Polymorphic Data Communications (3D / HD / UHD Video-Audio – Haptic data), Services and Applications (Avatars / Tele-robotics). Broadcasting on Heterogeneous Communications Networks. International connection experiments.
12. Internet of Things (IoT): Sensor Networks, Big Data, Radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, Near field communication (NFC), Smart devices, systems and environments (smart home, smart office, smart car) Security and privacy issues.

14. Wireless and mobile communications: protocols, services and applications, new-generation telecommunications networks. Consumer and energy saving issues, quality of service, ad-hoc networks, Delay-Tolerant Networks, asymmetric wireless broadcasting systems.
15. Possible state control of protocols and network models. Internet Protocols, Traffic Engineering.
16. Network and Services Management, levels of control and management for the future Internet, network monitoring, Software-Defined Networks.
17. Application and Service Planning, Implementation of Advanced Applications for Social Challenges (ICT in the Societal Challenges) and Industrial Development (ICT-Industrial Leadership / Development / Product).
